New Site / New Flash Player

Howdy Everyone.  I've made some changes to the http://www.unbelievablebeats.com website, and the beats can be leased through the streamlined flash Player.  No two beats are alike and I try to diversify my music production on each track.   I hope you enjoy the beats and instrumentals.

My First Blog

Posted onFebruary 24th, 2010

Well, the website is launching soon and I thought I would give some thoughts about how I intend to operate the site.  The main area of the site is the beats and instrumentals portion, where hip hop beats are for sale.  There are 4 types of licenses available on the website, and the main questions can be answered by viewing the Beat Licensing Chart. The first type of license will be a non-exclusive license, where the licensee is adding lyrics to the instrumental.   I still retain the rights to the music and the master recording, and this is the only license on the website which you are able to check out online.  The 3 other licenses explained shortly (exclusive license, custom beat exclusive license, and sync/master use for audio visual and multimedia projects) can be bought online, but the purchase cannot be completed until I have a signed copy of a given license.  The agreement can be mailed, faxed, or scanned and emailed to me An exclusive license will be sold only one time to one artist or company.  This protects both me and the client.  With an exclusive license, I transfer the rights to the master recording but keep my rights to the music.  A sync/master use license applies to films, television, advertising, video games, and all multimedia needs.  Some beats are available for exclusive purchase and also sync/master use.  This pretty much means beats will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.  As stated before, exclusive beats will be sold one time to one artist or company and never sold again. (the license states those terms)  If an exclusive purchase is made, the beat will be marked "Sold, Not For Sale," and will stream online with the voice tag for demonstration purposes only.  This same beat (before it's actually sold) is available for exclusive or sync/master use.  If a sync/master use purchase is made, the beat will then be changed to non-exclusive, because all sync/master use licenses are made as a non-exclusive agreement.  So, it's a first come and first serve basis on exclusive beats that are also offered as sync/master use.  Exclusive beats are purchased with the intention of adding lyrics to the instrumental.  Sync/Master use agreements are for audio visual projects and all multimedia.  If someone purchases an exclusive beat to add lyrics, the beat will never be sold again.  If someone purchases the sync/master use agreement, it will be moved to the non-exclusive area.  As far as sync/master use purchases, please fill out the sync/master use application so I have a better idea about your project. The last type of license deals with a custom beat exclusive license.  In this agreement, YOU are the employer and I am the producer, producing the track as a work for hire.  The master recording is transferred to you but I still retain the rights to the music.  I have designed a custom beat questionnaire to help facilitate this process, where you can pick the drums, instruments, sound effects, overall vibe, upload samples, and tell me exactly what you have in mind so I can make your vision a reality.  I will require a non-refundable down payment to get started which covers my time spent in the studio.  With the information I receive from your custom beat request, I should have a great idea on how to create your beat.  I can imagine most of the time I will be fine tuning certain aspects of the original demonstration of the custom beat.   However, if I am totally off base, I will attempt a total makeover one more time.  I will not attempt a total makeover for a third time. Custom Beats are available for those wishing to add lyrics to an instrumental and also for Sync/Master Use projects.  I can also perform lyrics on Sync/Master use Custom Beats if you so desire me to. Another area of the site is the Songs by Shaun section, which are not beats and instrumentals, but are actual songs with me singing and rapping the lyrics.  As of today, it currently features the 19 songs from my album, "Space/Time Continuum."  These songs are available for sync/master use licensing.  I will continue to make new songs, but they will be all different genres.  I envision new songs with me singing more, more ambient tracks, but also more electronic type of tracks.   I'll be making all types of music; the possibilities are endless.  In regards to Custom Beats, they can also be Custom Songs.  I can create any type of instrumental needed for any purpose, and I sing or rap in any way needed for any purpose.  I'm here to services your needs in any type of song, beat, or instrumental. Another part of the website will be FREE ringtones.  In short, I've got loads of exciting ideas for ringtones and hope to build up the free ringtone library.  These will be interesting ringtones with a hip hop flare, funny ringtones, and everything in between. Besides Custom Beats, another service I'll be offering is Mixing and/or Mastering.  Please upload the files you want me to mix or master, and I'll do my best to make it radio ready, or whatever ready you desire.  I understand the loud wars, and will use equalization, compression, limiting, volume, and panning to make your track something to be reckoned with.  I can also mix or master any type of audio project you may have. The multimedia section consists of the Blog, Photo, Video, and Discussion Board. In the video section, I already have a how to rewire reason into FL Studio tutorial, and will be making many more tutorials and videos of music production in the studio.  You may also check out or subscribe to my You Tube Channel, which is "ShaunFriedman." The Discussion Board is a place to learn and network with people from around the globe who share similar passions and interests. Lastly, but certainly not least, I'd like to thank everybody who left Guest Book comments on the old website, as well as anyone who left encouraging comments on myspace or facebook.  I saved your kind words, and have accumulated a bunch of "Testimonials."  The encouraging words mean more to me than you could ever imagine, and they validated that the emotion, heart, and soul I put into each composition is definitely felt by others.  The encouraging comments definitely raised my spirits and helped me to push forward.  There are really no words to express my appreciation for these comments; I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Going forward I will be reconciling my library of beats and revising some older ones that need a little fine tuning before they hit the site.  I'll also be making new ones at the same time.  Good luck with all your projects, and I hope I can help enhance any project you are working on. Thank You, Shaun Friedman
